Happy National Scrapbooking Day!

I hope you all get a chance to do something crafty this weekend. I've been crafting all week and busy starting the write-up of the tutorial on my new 6"x8" "Uncharted" mini-album. I used Glitz Designs "Uncharted Waters" collection for this album and let me just say...I love everything about this collection from the colors to the trendy anchors, chevrons and whole nautical feel!

I completed this album using two of the 8x8 paper pads and one of the 6x6 paper pads. It could also be made using one of each size pad if you chose a coordinating 12x12 paper for the insides of the larger features. There's a ton of room for photos in this album and lots of new features. I've mixed magnetic closures with metal hook-and-eye closures, a hairband closure, and brad/ribbon/twine closures.

One of my favorite parts of this album is the D-ring closure on the outside with the burlap chevron ribbon. If you've visited my blog before, you've probably heard me talk about how I'm always on the hunt for new album closures, so I was very happy to find that large clasp and design this one.

This album is 14 pages (including front and back covers) and there's 14 photo mats/tags inside of pockets throughout the album. I used the "bits and pieces" tag sheet, washi tape, rhinestones, "what-nots", and die-cut stickers in the collection and added a few things from my stash. Most, if not all, of the metal closures, burlap chevron ribbon, and punches that I used in this album are recent purchases and can still be easily found in stores.
